Signs You May Need a Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also referred to as endodontic therapy) are necessary when an untreated dental cavity reaches all the way to the pulp or if trauma to a tooth causes nerve damage. We then gain access to the infected tooth’s canals and clear out the compromised pulp, bacteria, decayed nerve tissue, and other debris. Once we administer an infection-fighting antibiotic and replace the pulp with a biocompatible, rubber-like material called gutta-percha, we seal the tooth to prevent further infection.
